For the last 25 years, Marjorie has been a much loved part of the team at Spark Response. But today, she bids farewell to her friends and colleagues, for Marjorie is to retire.
Today, many of Marjories co-workers came together to celebrate her retirement. She was presented with gifts, flowers, and a card with hundreds of well wishes, by Spark Managing Director Peter Slee, at a lunch time presentation. Spark laid out a buffet for all the team to join Marjorie in celebrating her retirement, where she had the chance to say goodbye to her “second family”
How can you sum up 25 years working for one organisation? For starters, Marjorie has worked across the business. Initially joining as part of the promotions team, Marjorie moved onto finance before working in warehouse administration, and finally becoming part of the contact centre team.
We asked Marjorie what was the one thing that kept her at Spark for all that time?
“There’s no ‘them and us’ nonsense between the managers and the staff. Our directors know everyone by name and they always come and chat. The people are so friendly, it’s just a lovely place to work”
What does Marjorie have planned for her retirement? “A lot of relaxing! And spending time with friends and family. It will be very strange not coming into Spark everyday!”
Spark Response is fortunate enough to have a very established team. Our senior management team have over 100 years of experience with Spark between them, and our wider employees have over 1000 years experience between them.
Trish Stockdale, Partner Manager now becomes the outright longest serving employee here at Spark. Trish and Marjorie joined Spark on the same day back in 1989. Trish admits “It’s going to be strange coming into work and not seeing Marjorie. We’ve worked together for so long!” In many ways we’re all a family, but we all wish Marjorie a happy and relaxing retirement.”
We’d love to know if any of your team have such long years of service, tell us in the comments!
